As of 8th May 2008, Swimming Cumberland Inc.
changed its name to Swimming Metro South West.
At the Annual
General Meeting the Clubs of Hawkesbury, Riverstone ASC,
Riverstone Dolphins, Swimwest and Windsor joined Swimming Metro
North West (the Old Castlereagh Area) at the request of Swimming
NSW.
Bankstown Sports and Revesby Workers joined our Area, from
the disappearing Western Suburbs.
Wizards Swim Team has some
issues with pool location, and the relative Area placement,
hence they are currently in "limbo'', shall we say, in relation
to their Area position.
This means that Swimming Metro South
West has 28 Clubs, which are listed under "Clubs".
The new Area will be run by Management Committee
of which the members are:
- Dennis Browning (President)
- Brian Hosford (Vice President)
- Stan Najdzion (Treasurer)
- Leonard Repeti (Secretary)
- Kathy Thompson (Registrar)
- Jann Fathers (ALEC Convenor)

- Neil Rogers (Development Convenor)
- Aloysius Koh (Committee Member)
- Peter Tranter (Committee Member)
- Branko Sutic ( Committee Member)
- Pat Troy (Committee Member)
There are two new Committees:
- Competition
Kathy Thompson, Peter Johnston, Mary Carty, Scott Bradwell
and Brian Dry.
This committee will oversee all
Competition, Records and Host Clubs.
- Selection/Development
Neil Rogers, Peter Johnston, Mary Carty, Denise Namroud
and Kathy Thompson
This committee will organise all
selections and development activities.
This site is still under the name of
Swimming Cumberland as we are awaiting new website
allocations and other decisions to be made. As a result
this website is an interim action on behalf of the Area,
to allow all swimming constituents a communications
channel although not strictly under the new Area's name.
Thanks you for your patience.
